Vintage SOG Tomcat 1st Gen S.M.CA. Seki Japan Folding Lockback PocketKnife (90)

An excellent example of one of the earliest and most recognizable folding knives produced by SOG Specialty Knives.

The original SOG Tomcat was introduced during SOG's early years and earned Overall Knife of the Year at the 1988 Blade Show. This particular example represents the desirable early Santa Monica, California production period, identified by the original square:

marking on one side of the blade and SEKI-JAPAN on the opposite side.

Collector documentation identifies S.M.CA.-marked Tomcats as the earliest regular-production variation, preceding the later EDM.WA. and unmarked-location versions.

Made in Seki, Japan, the original Tomcat is known for its substantial lockback construction, sculpted Bowie-style blade, stainless bolsters and distinctive black textured handle.

Condition: Excellent vintage pre-owned condition. The blade retains its original profile and finish with clear factory markings. Fine handling and surface marks are visible consistent with age and previous ownership. The blade tip remains intact and the black handle and stainless bolsters are very well preserved.
