Description
A classic American-made Schrade Uncle Henry 227UH Folding Bowie, featuring the traditional two-blade folding-hunter configuration and distinctive Staglon handles.
The 227UH was one of the larger knives in Schrade's Uncle Henry lineup. Introduced in 1973, the original USA-made version remained in the catalog through 1986. It measures approximately 5¼ inches closed and features a large clip-point blade paired with a slightly shorter secondary skinning/general-purpose blade.
This example is clearly tang stamped:
SCHRADE+
U.S.A. 227UHThat stamp is important because later 227UH knives were produced overseas after the original Schrade company closed.
The knife features Schrade's traditional Staglon simulated-stag handles, nickel-silver bolsters, brass liners and the familiar Uncle Henry script shield. The rear bolster incorporates a lanyard hole. Original specifications identify the blades as Schrade+ stainless steel.
