Description:
A distinctive piece of American industrial and tool history, this vintage M. Klein & Sons electrician's knife dates to 1973 and was produced as a commemorative or presentation piece for Champion Papers.

The knife features the traditional two-tool electrician/lineman configuration with a spear-point main blade and combination screwdriver/wire-working blade. The main blade is engraved:

CHAMPION PAPERS
PRODUCTION RECORD
APRIL 1973

The tang carries the early M. KLEIN & SONS / CHICAGO / U.S.A. marking along with the H stamp. It has dark brown handle scales, metal bolsters, brass liners and the large folding bail traditionally found on electrician's and lineman's knives.

M. Klein & Sons supplied electrician's knives for decades, with production contracted to American cutlery manufacturers. Camillus factory records document that Camillus was producing electrician's knives for M. Klein & Sons as early as 1952.

The knife shows evidence of previous use, handling and age. Both blades/tools have scratches, fine surface marks and areas of discoloration. The polished main blade retains the Champion Papers / Production Record / April 1973 engraving clearly enough to read.

The screwdriver blade remains intact and retains its original utility profile. The dark brown handle scales show scratches, scuffs and age-related wear but appear complete in the photographs. Bolsters, liners and hardware exhibit additional scratches, patina and cosmetic wear. The large bail remains present.

The knife pictured is the actual knife you will receive.
