H & B Forge Woodsman Axe
The primary difference between a tomahawk and an axe is the way the handle is designed. A tomahawk handle is tapered and gradually gets bigger closer to the top of the hawk. That is called a friction fit. An axe handle is attached with steel and wood wedges that are driven into the top of the handle after the head has been attached.
The blade is about 4 inches from top to bottom and about 7 inches across the top. The handle is 25.5" inches long, made of kiln dried hickory. The bottom of the handle is larger and ridged for easier handling. OAL is 28".
